The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine adopted the Law "On Amendments to Clause 123 of the Family Code of Ukraine" (re Affiliation of the Child born in the Result of Use of Assisted Reproductive Technologies)

The Law clearly defines the concept of marital partners for those entitled to use the assisted reproductive technologies. Thus, marital partners are a male and a female. The document prohibits foreign citizens staying in a same-sex marriage to use the services of surrogate mothers citizens of Ukraine.

The draft is registered under Reg. No. 8212.
